Research Opportunity

Have you experienced incarceration and worked for change in your community?

Calling Black Women in Detroit and Lansing!

We would love to hear your story.

There is a new PhD project led by a researcher from Detroit, focusing on the political lives of Black women after incarceration. This project involves interviewing Black women who have been impacted by incarceration and have advocated for community change. All interviews are confidential. They will span from 45-60 min and take place from September 2025 to January 2026.

Participants will receive a gift card as a thank you.

  • Black women (18+) who have been incarcerated,
  • Active or formerly active in community or political organizing, advocacy, re-entry support, harm reduction, housing justice, or similar work.
